Reflection: From 10:30-11:30 there was a ThinkPlace Product Showcase Tour, which basically was a walkthrough of Lenovo's top products. I know it's all a marketing ploy, but wow, Lenovo has some really incredible products. Not to advertise, but Yoga is super incredible and the technology for the newest X1 Yoga, how the keyboard flattens for ease of access when using tablet mode, really incredible. And the other laptops where you can handwrite in a notebook and have it copied down on onenote or whatever program. And the Moto is really cool too, all the mods(?) that you can add to your Moto like a battery mod, the extremely professional camera mod, the speaker mod, and the projector mod. Really innovative and honestly, who doesn't love customizable products. Even if the interface for a Moto is different than my Iphone, I think I could get used to it relatively quickly.

After the tour, we went to building 8 for the collab event (painting rocks and birdhouse) and had lunch there as well. It was a rocky start for sure. We waited for a while then decided to just eat lunch first and wait for the Intern who headed the event to show up. After lunch and Shantal came, we started sanding rocks down and other interns were painting the rocks the Lenovo colors: sky blue, blue, red, orange, pink, and green. After the rocks are all painted we (interns and our managers) are supposed to personalize them on Mon/Tues at building 8 which will be a struggle considering I don't have a car. Me, Dymir, and Shounak used sandpaper on the rocks to sand them down, I suppose it makes it easier to paint over. Dymir and I had to leave at around 1 because another Intern that was giving us a ride had a meeting soon. When we got back to building 1, I received an email about Intranet content from Ms. Jennifer. She asked to delete a link from the local nav bar and then make a new page for info about bribes. I had to run through the steps of creating a new webpage again, it was infinitely easier than the first time because now at least I had some sort of idea what I was doing. It was still a struggle though, trying to remember what I named the webpage so I could link it in the nav bar. She requested the webpage have youtube videos embedded and separated into the language it was in, a simple task and I finished in about an hour or so. I really enjoy websites because the results are pretty instantaneous.

Monday Mr. James sent me content for a new Privacy page on the main legal page. It was simple because he sent me a word doc that had all the things he wanted on the page so it was just a copy paste, plus a little formatting for the table. I used the actual html to format, because the little editor was kind of confusing for me and didn't give me options for aligning text in a box. When it comes to websites, I kind of have that mindset of not leaving until I've finished. As in once I start making or editing a page, I won't stop until I absolutely have to. I always look forward to doing things with html and websites.

A major frustration for me was trying to figure out how to make a new webpage using the software I had just learned. At first I tried to just click around and figure it out on my own, trying to restrain from doing too serious damage to the software. When that turned out to be fruitless, I contacted Mr. Shane, the guy who had taught me the basics of the website. However, he didn't really respond to emails, so I went back the tutorial manual and skimmed the info to find what I needed.
